Downtown Boise - Changes Everywhere

Downtown Boise is in a constant state of change. As the capital city of Idaho downtown Boise has traditionally been home to state government offices (including the state capital) and locally owned restaurants and shops. But that has changed.

The business community and travel industries have discovered downtown Boise and it has seen a huge increase in private sector companies, hotels and universities establishing themselves as part of the downtown Boise community. Companies with a large downtown presence include; Simplot, Clearwater Analytics, and CradlePoint. Boise State University has moved its Computer Science center into downtown Boise to foster synergy between the rapidly growing technology companies and the education pipeline they depend upon .  The Hyatt Place, Residence Inn and The Inn At 500 Capital are all hotels under construction in the downtown area scheduled for opening in the near future. The Pioneer Crossing development has begun at 11th street and Myrtle street. This new project will include a hotel, parking structure, retail and office space. It is scheduled for completion in 2018.

Boise is developing a reputation as a great city for technology companies. The Idaho Technology Council has representatives from many of Idaho's most prominent technology companies and they are assisting Idaho develop an environment that fosters educational, funding and infrastructure that creates high wage technology jobs in Idaho.

Basque Block

When thinking about Downtown Boise you can't forget about the Basque Block with its great restaurants, including Leku Ona and Bar Gernika. The Basque Block provides visitors the opportunity to learn about the long history and influence of Basque natives on the Treasure Valley.

Spa 35 Med Spa has been waiting for ten years to be closer to the downtown Boise energy, and now our time has arrived. As we watch the lights turn on in Simplot headquarters and children ride the slide at JUMP the Spa 35 team goes to work grinning from ear to ear anticipating the next Alive After Five or First Thursday.
